THE FOUNDER & DESIGNER
Meet Katarina
Katarina founded Kachi Interiors after eight years of working across London, the UK, the US, South Africa and the Caribbean, developing a practice shaped by a wide range of projects and contexts.
Her background spans full interior design, spatial planning and bespoke furniture design. This means each project is approached as a complete whole, where architecture, joinery, materials and furniture are considered together from the outset, rather than treated as separate layers added later.
Katarina is drawn to interiors with genuine character — spaces shaped by craftsmanship, considered detail and pieces with a sense of history behind them.
She is interested in how rooms feel as much as how they look, and in creating a balance between structure, texture and atmosphere that develops naturally through the process.
Her work is defined by an attention to quality and detail, but also by restraint — knowing when to edit, when to simplify, and when to let materials and forms speak for themselves. The result is interiors that feel thoughtful and grounded.
THE APPROACH
Rooted in material.
Every project begins with understanding how a client lives — how they use their space, the pieces they’ve collected, and the atmosphere they want their home to hold.
From this, the design takes shape gradually rather than all at once. Ideas are developed through dialogue, materials, and spatial decisions that evolve together.
The studio sources objects with a focus on quality, provenance, and how each piece will sit within the wider scheme. Those selections are made for their materiality, scale, and character.
The result is an interior that feels settled, layered and personal. Spaces are composed with enough restraint to let the architecture and individual pieces speak clearly, while still feeling warm, complete and easy to live with.
