A considered bathroom renovation for an Islington home, designed around a restrained palette of warm whites, soft colour and classic detailing. Rather than relying on decorative finishes, the design uses proportion, texture and a small number of carefully chosen elements to give the room its character.

The walls are finished with classic glazed tiles, paired with a small-format mosaic floor that introduces a subtle variation in colour and texture underfoot. Chrome fittings keep the scheme clean and understated, allowing the architecture and proportions of the loft room to remain the focus.

One defining decision was to use a soft shower curtain instead of a fixed glass enclosure. Its natural drape brings softness to an otherwise hard-material room, while also giving the shower area a more relaxed, domestic quality. It is a simple detail, but one that changes how the bathroom feels.

The overall palette is deliberately quiet, but the room is not without character.​
